D228 MORTAR ADMIX (formerly Duraspred M)

Features: Improves moisture retention and bond strength due to entrained air holding the cement/sand matrix at the contact surface. Improves impermeability of the mortar by breaking capillary channels through air entrainment and prevents the wall from dampness caused due to the ingress of water/wind borne rain water. Helps mortar to accommodate all thermal expansion/contraction movements through entrained air as cushioning/expansion chamber. As a result it dies not allow the mortar structure to undergo cracking. Due to air entrainment property, it does not allow the mortar to develop excessive strength as compare to an unplasterised mortar, air entrainment results in some loss of strength, as the same quantity of cement binder is being used to cement of a large volume of mortar. So plasterised mortar has lower material cost. No significant effect on the setting and hardening properties of mortar. No chemical reaction with the mortar or its constituents. No Colour change on the hardened mortar.

Used for producing crack free, waterproofed and workable plaster, brick laying, pointing, rendering, screeding, etc

0.25 % by weight of total cementitious content; actual dosage to be finalised on the basis of mortar trials

D228 DURABUILD MORTAR ADMIX is a Liquid mortar plaster-cum waterproofing compound. It is most versatile in making smooth finish of plaster, render and screeds. Under normal situation most plastered surfaces develop cracks but D228 DURABUILD MORTAR ADMIX makes such plastered surfaces absolutely crack- free and water-resistant.
